Time from submission to final decision reduced

Biogeosciences has taken several measures in the hope of shortening the time from submission to final acceptance of a manuscript by a month. This includes a shorter period for interactive public discussion, which has been reduced from 8 to 6 weeks. In addition, authors will now be asked to post their final comments in the discussion forum within 3 weeks after the discussion end. These and other measures should reduce the median time from submission to final decision from currently 5 to 4 months. Excellent papers with authors who respond promptly can be accepted up to 1 month sooner.
